The half-timbered houses bear witness to Norman history, and the flower-filled gardens give Veules-les-Roses a sense of traveling back in time, where time seems to stand still.

Don't miss walking along the Champs-Élisées Path in Veules-les-Roses, but you won't be breaking out your credit card here as there are no shops, only the sound of water and trees.
In this path, you'll inevitably come across the Anquetil Mill; a historic water mill in Veules, dating back to the 11th century and reputed to be the smallest working mill in France. We were very intrigued by this waterwheel that still operates, driven by the current of France's smallest river.
Do as we did, take a stroll along the Veules, lined with weeping willows, and listen to the gentle murmur of the water turning the mill wheels and the chorus of birds.
