The lake of Biscarrosse
Categorized in South West
Lake Biscarrosse, located in the Landes department, in the southwest of France, is one of the largest lakes in the region.
After seeing some photos of this lake online, we absolutely wanted to visit it to discover its turquoise water and fine sand beaches, reminiscent of some Caribbean islands, to say the least!
Once there, we parked at Navarrosse beach and reached the beach on foot through the pine forest. It's very accessible and above all very pleasant.
Navarrosse Beach, an incredible beach reminiscent of the Caribbean
We are sure that if you look at our photos, you will feel like we got it wrong, but no, Navarrosse Beach on Lake Biscarrosse really offers a postcard-worthy landscape, a beautiful sandy beach, pine trees, and crystal-clear water.
We launched the drone to gain altitude and offer you unique shots of this beach! From above, you can see the extent of the area and the beautiful blue color of the water.
Water temperature at Lake Biscarrosse in April
Obviously, the water temperature reminds us of the reality of the southwest climate! Generally, the water is around 11°C at Lake Biscarrosse, 15°C in the best cases... Swimming is therefore reserved for the most adventurous among us. We didn't even attempt to dip a toe, just to admire the scenery.
