Provence Landings Anniversary

Categorized in French Riviera

We attended the military vehicle exhibition during the festivities related to the 80th anniversary of the Provence Landings, organized by the city of Bormes-les-Mimosas.

The liberation of Bormes-les-Mimosas, which took place on August 17, 1944, was also celebrated.

We covered the military vehicle exhibition at La Favière (Bormes-les-Mimosas) by creating a video for our social media.

On August 17, 2024, a gathering of Jeeps, Citroën Tractions, and trucks—perfectly restored and having participated in the landings and the Allied offensive during the Provence Landings on August 15, 1944—was held.

The association Mémoire Bormes 1944 organized this magnificent exhibition and reenactment, complete with a marching band, period clothing, and items found during excavations or belonging to private collections.

We found this exhibition fascinating and hope you will be just as interested as we were!
