Playa Flamingo in Playa Blanca
Categorized in Lanzarote
On the south coast of the volcanic island of Lanzarote, at the foot of Montaña Roja, lies Playa Flamingo beach. We stumbled upon it while exploring the surroundings of our rental.
We were immediately struck by the beauty of this crescent-shaped beach, protected by two rock jetties, making it safe for swimming in warm, waveless waters.
In fact, this beach seems to be popular among families, as children can swim here safely. One can even stand quite far from the shore.
There are restaurants, bars, and a few shops nearby
Playa Flamingo is an ideal spot for sunbathing during the day, swimming, and enjoying a meal or a cocktail at one of the many restaurants or bars along the seaside promenade.
We enjoyed having a beer on the terrace because Playa Flamingo beach is well-exposed all day long. It's a perfect spot if you want to tan! But be sure to protect yourself as the sun is strong in Lanzarote.
On the practical side, there are two small supermarkets where you can find quite a few things, including sunscreen or postcards!
Don't forget your padlock to seal your love!
If you're a couple and want to leave a souvenir of your love on this stunning Lanzarote beach, don't forget to bring a padlock and hang it on the railing of Mirador En Playa Flamingo. This viewpoint is very easy to access and offers an extraordinary view of this very photogenic beach.
Take a stroll along the beach on Avenidad Maritima
If you enjoy walking and admiring the sea, cacti, bougainvilleas, and aloe vera flowers, walk west along Playa Flamingo on Avenidad Maritima. It's a pedestrian-only promenade between the Atlantic Ocean and the magnificent hotels with lush gardens and date palm trees. We stopped at this terrace to sip on a delicious Sangria, and we highly recommend this bar.
