Located on the Picardy coast, Mers-les-Bains stands out for its authenticity and timeless charm. This small coastal town, nestled between cliffs and the sea, offers a picturesque setting that attracts visitors from France and Europe.
We are familiar with Mers-les-Bains as it is a childhood destination for us.
In our opinion, the main attraction of Mers-les-Bains lies in its Belle Époque and Art Nouveau architecture. The facades of vacation homes or villas are colorful and richly decorated. It is a clear testament to the city's rich history.
We recommend strolling along the seafront in Mers-les-Bains to admire these architectural gems, but don't hesitate to explore the perpendicular streets as well, as they also house beautiful villas typical of the Belle Époque style.
What also appeals to us about Mers-les-Bains is its pebble beach. Indeed, building a sandcastle there might be more challenging, but the atmosphere of this type of beach is unique.
Please note that it is not recommended to take pebbles from the beach in order to protect it from erosion.
We managed to fly the drone from the beach to have a magnificent overview of the seafront.
