Welcome to Lisbon, the enchanting capital of Portugal where history, culture, and gastronomy come together to create an unforgettable experience.

We visited Lisbon in a single day in October 2018. It was an intense day where we walked over 22km! But as the city is superb, we have beautiful memories of it.

Located on the banks of the Tagus River, this vibrant city offers a captivating blend of old and new, and it's precisely this kind of contrast that we love during urban getaways.

Lisbon is renowned for its remarkable architecture, mixing various styles ranging from Gothic to Baroque to Moorish.

The Belém Tower and the Jerónimos Monastery are impressive examples of Manueline architecture, while the Alfama district, with its winding alleys and houses adorned with colorful azulejos, captures the very essence of the city.

Lisbon reminds us of a certain city in the USA.

With its colorful trams winding through the narrow streets of the Bairro Alto district, Lisbon unmistakably recalls San Francisco, and we loved photographing these relics of the past that still work perfectly, are an integral part of the city's public transportation network, and are not just tourist attractions.

But even more striking than the cable cars of Bairro Alto is the view from the MAAT that reminded us of the famous city of San Francisco. The 25th of April Bridge, a reddish-orange suspension bridge, resembles the Golden Gate, San Francisco's suspension bridge. Of course, Lisbon's bridge is smaller, but at 70 meters high, 3 kilometers long, and with two levels of traffic, it is quite impressive!
