In the Arcachon Basin, discover Gujan-Mestras, one of the most authentic villages.
During our journey in the southwest, because we had heard about it from family, we decided to make a detour to the village of Gujan-Mestras.
We were charmed by this small fishing village surrounded by water, where time seems to stand still.
Wooden huts and oysters
What immediately appealed to us in this small village of Gujan-Mestras was all these wooden houses and the very picturesque atmosphere of this village. In fact, Gujan-Mestras reminds us of villages in Sweden.
But above all, what is particularly great about Gujan-Mestras is all these little restaurants by the water, these terraces in the sun where it is easy to enjoy oysters with a good glass of white wine!
In our photos that you can view below, you will undoubtedly be charmed by this typical fishing village that plunges us into the past.
For parking, we recommend the small parking lot near the train station, located on Rue de l'Yser: Parking in Gujan-Mestras.
